Words to live by, with that song title from their first album “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)”, the Wu-Tang Clan surely wasn’t talkin’ about identity theft, but I am. You might be wondering what the hell am I talking about, but hold up. Just listen for a minute. Did you know that thousands of people everyday get their identity stolen, by thieves who leave behind, a big mess to clean up? Talk to anyone who has had their credit f*cked with, and you’ll know the stress it can create. I don’t mean to sound like a radio commercial or anything, but I don’t think people know that there are cheap and easy ways out there, to help prevent bastards from damaging your established, or building credit. I mean, for $10 you can put a freeze on your credit, in which only you can lift it, for instance, if you plan on buying a house, or a car, or some other major purchase that requires your credit to be ran. It’s a great deal, knowing that some chump online, or some hourly employee who works for a major retailer, where they gather your personal info, can’t get their dirty little hands on it. Trust me, when I say that it is well worth it. I’ve only had one close call, and it was minor, compared to horror stories that I have heard. I mean, some broke fool was trying to open a cel phone account, at Radio Shack, under my SSN, probably with his buddy, who works for the cel phone company, and thank god, that the information didn’t add up, and they were denied. I was still sent a letter, by AT&T, letting me know that I was denied a new cellular contract. At least, it wasn’t for a new home, or a 2008 Cadillac Escalade, on 24’s, registered to an address somewhere in East L.A., in a really bad part of town! Do that math. Anyways, just hit up www.experian.com/freeze, and look into it yourself, and spend that $10, it just might be the best investment of your life. You can also inquire with TransUnion, or Equifax as well, but Experian made it super easy, and you can pay with a credit card, and the process is instant.
